"Khid" is a traditional style of weaving
Thai silk fabrics and scarves in the
northeastern part of the country. A
special type of handloom is used in the
production of Khid patterns. The
patterns, delicately designed, are
touchable on the scarves.
Each piece of scarf is
individually made one at a time.
Therefore, the colours, sizes, and the
middle patterns are not exactly the same
on each scarf. The middle patterns are
considered a unique work of art,
designed according to imagination of
each weaver. No two scarves will look
exactly alike but the overall patterns
remain the same.
The scarves with the same
product code will have the same
background colour, but the middle
patterns will be different on each
scarf. For example, the code ZK-102
refers to a silk scarf with black as the
background colour. The middle patterns
of different pieces of the same code
ZK-102 are different. |
